WindBorne Systems is supercharging weather models with a unique proprietary data source: constellations of next-generation smart weather balloons targeting the most critical atmospheric data. We then combine that unique data source with the world’s most accurate AI weather models. Our long-term vision is to eliminate weather uncertainty, and in the process help humanity adapt to climate change, be that predicting hurricanes or speeding the adoption of renewables. The founding team of Stanford engineers was named Forbes 2019 30 under 30 and is backed by top investors including Khosla Ventures.

Like most jobs at WindBorne, this is a high-autonomy role. You will be expected to proactively seek out ways to better tell our story to the outside world.
This role is for you if you are an excellent writer who is good at managing a high number of business relationships. We love to see candidates who have written lots of press releases, newsletters, and technical blog posts. You should also have an eye for design; while you won't be working as a designer directly, you should be capable of giving high-quality feedback. We prefer generalists to specialists, so though your core competency should be writing, an ideal candidate will have at least touched on a wider range of communications work like press relations, events, sales materials, social media, and strategy.
Experience level: early to mid career.
