WindBorne API
Welcome to the WindBorne API Reference. These docs are managed by the WindBorne Systems development team.
The Data API provides access to data collected by WindBorne’s constellation of Global Sounding Balloons. The standard measurement set recorded during flight consists of wind speed/direction, barometric pressure, ambient temperature, and relative humidity, along with GPS position and timestamp.
The Forecasts API provides access to WindBorne WeatherMesh, the world’s most accurate (i.e., lowest RMSE) global weather model. WeatherMesh currently predicts surface temperature, pressure, winds, precipitation, and radiation; and then geopotential, temperature, winds, and moisture at 28 pressure levels.
Windborne a pip-installable Python library designed for seamless interaction with both Data and Forecasts API provided by WindBorne Systems. This library offers a Command Line Interface, a comprehensive set of tools and functions to access, query, and manipulate data collected by WindBorne’s Global Sounding Balloons, as well as predictive outputs from the WeatherMesh model.
