WindBorne Systems is supercharging weather models with a unique proprietary data source: constellations of next-generation smart weather balloons targeting the most critical atmospheric data. We then combine that unique data source with the world’s most accurate AI weather models. Our long-term vision is to eliminate weather uncertainty, and in the process help humanity adapt to climate change, be that predicting hurricanes or speeding the adoption of renewables. WindBorne is hiring interns for its AI Weather Prediction team. You will report to the CEO, John Dean, who directly manages the AI team.

Responsibilities

Highly variable depending on background skills and interests. You will be given the responsibility, respect, and trust that full time engineers get, and if you are good, there will be high potential to convert to full time.

Skills and Qualifications

You must be fluent in python and familiar with pytorch. You must have a basic understanding of linux environments and systems-level software. 

Beyond that, the only things required is high agency, willingness to work extremely hard, and ability to learn very quickly. In the era of LLM’s, an individual with those attributes can accomplish almost anything.
