WindBorne Systems is supercharging weather models with a unique proprietary data source: constellations of next-generation smart weather balloons targeting the most critical atmospheric data. We then combine that unique data source with the world’s most accurate AI weather models. Our long-term vision is to eliminate weather uncertainty, and in the process help humanity adapt to climate change, be that predicting hurricanes or speeding the adoption of renewables. The founding team of Stanford engineers was named Forbes 2019 30 under 30 and is backed by top investors including Khosla Ventures.

WindBorne is seeking a highly motivated and organized Operations Coordinator to ensure smooth operations of our global network of weather balloon launch sites. This role will coordinate across both internal and external teams, while being a key pivot point in achieving our goals of collecting atmospheric data to improve forecasting. This person should be a stickler for detail, always looking two steps ahead, and excited to help continuously improve the people and systems around them.

  • Auditing: Ensuring that processes are followed and equipment is maintained is key to scaling our launch operations. You will be responsible for managing regular audits of both contractor launch processes and launch equipment health.

  • Business Administration: This network of launch sites comes with many day-to-day administrative needs to ensure each runs smoothly. You will be responsible for ensuring all bills are paid, payroll is managed and distributed on time, and conduct performance reviews for all launch contractors.
